Your Pleasure Is Sacred. Your Pleasure Is Vital.
Your pleasure can guide you toward manifesting your dreams and your highest purpose.
I’m just going to say it: pleasure is a far more effective (not to mention enjoyable) motivator than forced discipline. Yep! I said it.
Let me break this down for you…
We humans are driven towards pleasure or away from pain for our survival right?
It is pleasurable to drink water when we are thirsty or to eat when we are hungry and sex is pleasurable which continues our species.
We are also driven away from fear and pain like running from a lion or not standing in fire.
So if we understand this, then we can understand how we as humans operate and how we can motivate ourselves to do things that are good for us.
I forced myself for years to do the things I needed to do to reach my dreams and goals. And it really sucked!
I would force myself to go to the gym. I would force myself to sing for hours a day. I would force myself to eat salad when I really wanted to chips.
We force ourselves to do a lot of things because that’s what we’ve all been taught. It didn’t work for me.
I would get burned out. Forcing myself to sing when I didn’t want to, made me start hating music.
Forcing myself to go to the gym every day was making me miserable and pissed. Forcing myself to starve or eat foods I didn’t want to eat would backfire and I’d end up binging chips anyways.
So I figured out a wayyyyyyyyy better method!
I started using my natural human drive toward pleasure in my favor so that I’d never have to force myself to do anything again.
For my health and fitness goals.
I started cooking and baking really delicious and healthy meals and baked goods that I truly enjoyed eating.
I started doing workouts that were really fun for me like dance class, yoga, hiking, and swimming. And I am excited to workout instead of having to force my ass into a gym.
For my music goals, I stopped singing music I didn’t like (because I thought I had to in order to become a better singer) and started singing songs and music that I really enjoyed singing.
I started playing songs on the piano that I really loved and found ways to make the piano more fun and interesting.
For my money goals, I started giving myself fun incentives for saving money.
For my career goals, I quit working jobs I hated.
I created a career out of something that I truly enjoy doing so I don’t ever feel like I’m “working.”
Using pleasure to motivate myself is so much more effective, enjoyable, and honestly kinder towards myself. I’m sick of fighting. I’m sick of forcing. I’m done with rebelling against myself.
I’m here to enjoy the shit out of life while pursuing my deepest dreams and desires!
And because I did it, I know you can too!
