Hi! I'm Kat Martin, the founder of Wylde Voices. Nature and music have always been my greatest loves. As a child, I sang freely until bullying silenced me. After two traumatizing performance experiences, I came to believe that I simple couldn’t sing—and that it was better if no one ever heard me try. Years later, a supportive college teacher reignited my passion for singing, giving me the courage to pursue a Masters Degree in Classical Vocal Performance.
But my journey wasn’t without struggle—I faced vocal cord polyps, chronic tension, fatigue, muscular tension disfonia, and crippling stage fright. Despite working with top vocal specialists, renowned teachers, and attending countless workshops and study programs, I couldn’t break through and almost quit music altogether in 2019.
Thankfully, that same year, I discovered The Naked Voice, a book written by Chloe Goodchild, that opened my eyes to the emotional and spiritual aspects of singing. Through a more holistic approach, I was finally able to heal my voice, regulate my nervous system, overcome my stage fright, and become the singer and performer of my dreams.
Today, I empower my students with the same comprehensive approach. By combining strategic vocal technique with mindfulness, breath and somatic practices, I guide others to deeply connect with their authentic voice and unleash its full potential.

I hold a B.A. in Entrepreneurship and a Minor in Music Education from the University of Southern California. After College I pursued a Masters in Classical Vocal Performance and trained as an opera singer for 10 years. In 2018, I transitioned into a crossover artist, launching my career as a jazz and lounge singer. I’ve had the privilege of studying with some of the best voice teachers in the world, many affiliated with both LA Opera and the Metropolitan Opera.
I began teaching voice and piano in 2019 at a local music studio and founded my own studio, Wylde Voices, in 2020. Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of people achieve their vocal and musical dreams.
